He transformed Edward because he suffres from a spanish flu and he transformed Rosalie because the friends of her boyfriend and her boyfriend raped her and he let her dead.

Alice Cullen
Alice was born in 1901 in Biloxi. She was kept in a psychiatric hospital because she had premonition. Alice was transformed by an old vampire who was in love with her and who worked at the asylum. She is 109 years old. She has 2 brothers; Edward and Emmet, and 1 sister: Rosalie. Her mother is Esme and her father is Dr Cullen (Carlisle).
Jasper is the adoped son of Carlise and Esmé.He is a new born who is struggling to control himself when he sees blood and humain beings. On the Bella's birthday in New Moon volume 2; jasper attacked her because he eut himself with an envelope . Before being new born and under the influence of Maria , he managed to train and direct the werewolves and the vampires to fight the new born.
